Welcome to Door Pottery’s (.net) in-stock site
Welcome to Door Pottery of Wisconsin, where I continue to bring you the finest quality handmade Arts and Crafts pottery from a small one person studio. My inspiration and influence comes from The Prairie School of Design and gorgeous Midwest landscapes right here in the Midwest. Being semi retired, I’ve been able to lean more into my artistic creativity and expression, which has helped get me back to my roots in the world of pottery. The pieces here on doorpottery.net are available for immediate purchase and typically ship within 5-7 business days.
Summer is in full swing. I get out fishing once or twice a week and am continuing to teach my summer pottery classes. Still enjoying sharing what I know with others. My students keep coming back so I must be doing something right. Ha! Tina and I have been taking some long weekends and spending time with friends. Next is a group meet up in Iowa. We’ll be getting together with friends from Southern Missouri, Northern Minnesota and Central Illinois. So nice to be able to get together and spend time reconnecting. It does the heart good, Tina says, and as usual, she’s right.
If you want to see my pottery in person, I will be at the Wisconsin Pottery Association Show in Madison on August 22. It will again be held at the Alliant Energy Center. In addition to selling my pottery, I will have some of my pottery collection for sale as well. Come check it out!
I leave you with this quote, “If you ever come across a piece of pottery that is perfect, you can be confident that it was produced by a machine. With pottery, you must seek near perfection. If you look carefully enough, you will always find some slight blemish that serves to remind us that the piece was crafted by a human hand. The longer you have to search, the greater the craftsman.”
